Greenberg Swing Space Chemistry Lab Renovation, Penn State University - University Park, PA

Project Completion: 2015

 

Project Highlights: 

  • Conversion of the former Penn State Ice Hockey Arena into laboratory and office space.

  • Laboratory spaces are swing spaces, as the University renovates various buildings on campus. 

  • Flexibility of design allows the labs to be used for undergraduate instructional chemistry, specific research functionalities for Chemical Engineering faculty and principal investigators, and future research for the Department of Earth and Mineral Sciences.

  • Office spaces for faculty and graduate students, as well as support spaces, were accommodated in the design.

  • A new entry and second floor were added to better utilize and provide access to the available space.
