Located within the Eastview Terrace Apartment Complex, this project reimagines an underutilized common area serving seven surrounding residence halls. The existing communal kitchen was small, difficult to locate, and uninviting, limiting student use. The design relocates the kitchen into a larger, more prominent space, creating a multifunctional hub that supports cooking, dining, studying, and social interaction. Design strategies focused on maximizing natural light, emphasizing the double-height volume, and revitalizing the space with fresh finishes and color. To address acoustic challenges, integrated sound panels enhance both comfort and visual interest, contributing to a vibrant and welcoming student environment.
