This project transformed a former IT department space within the State College Area School District’s administrative building into a bright, functional workplace for a new user group. The redesigned layout organizes six private offices around a central open office area, complemented by an additional private office, expanded district storage, and a refreshed conference room. Addressing the previously dark interior was a key priority, with the design introducing new windows along the southern façade and incorporating interior glazing to maximize the flow of natural light throughout the space. A lighter paint palette enhances this brightness, while varied flooring selections add visual interest and define different zones. Close coordination with the client’s furniture manufacturer ensured a cohesive integration of furnishings with the overall design vision.
