This project provided a new, approximately 10,500-square-foot facility for the State College Area School District’s Office of Physical Plant, consolidating previously scattered programs into a single, efficient location. Sited nearer the district’s main campuses, the new building addresses prior deficiencies in office, meeting, storage, and shop space while creating a cohesive and functional work environment. The design organizes the program across two levels to support both administrative and operational needs. The main floor features administrative offices, a welcoming lobby and entrance, meeting and break areas, plan storage, restrooms, and general storage. The lower level accommodates additional offices and shared workspace, along with staff support amenities including lockers, showers, and break areas, as well as a large multi-functional shop and expanded storage. The building’s material palette ties into surrounding structures on the campus, while an emphasis on natural light enhances interior comfort and productivity. Interior finishes incorporate the State College color scheme, reinforcing a strong visual identity throughout the space.
